MasĆa Cal Pau Cruset is a renovated winefarm, located in the heart of el PenedĆ©s, a region near Barcelona where vineyards are the essence of everything: its people, its landscapes, its gastronomy, its tradition and architecture. With MasĆa Cal Pau Cruset as your base camp, we will offer you a variety of hiking trips around and beyond, where you can enjoy your days here with all of your senses:

DAY 1 // Exploring the Sierra Litoral (half day):
With a welcome glass of cava in Masia Cal Pau Cruset we will give you time to recover from your journey and enjoy your first impression of the landscape. Afterwards,we will explore the Sierra Litoral; the mountains between the El PenedƩs and the plain by the sea.
We will start our itinerary in the small village of El Castellet, with a nearby castle of great character. We will walk through the Bosc Negre (Black Forest) close to the PantĆ de Foix; a lake with lookouts where we can watch an exciting variety of wild birds. In the summertime we can enjoy colourful sunsets over the vineyards before returning back home.

DAY 2 // Route of the 4 Castles (full day):
For more than three centuries, El PenedĆ©s was the border line between Al-Andalus and the Catalan counties. Starting in the Castle of Sant MartĆ Sarroca, we will pass some of these castles, defences visiting Castell de Sant MartĆ, Castell de MarmellĆ , El Castellot, Castell de Can Pascol and trekking across the forests and vinyeards.
We will enjoy the evening having a delicious dinner in la Masia Cal Pau Cruset and tasting Cremat, a local hot drink, under the stars.

DAY 3 // Garraf mountains (full day):
Today we will spend the whole day hiking through the Natural Park of Masis del Garraf, a calcareous small mountain in front of the sea with its own characteristic vegetation. The route will begin and end close to the sea. First we will visit old shepherd stone-huts, go through paths surrounded by ancient stone walls, visit the ghost town of Jafre, and the Buddhist Monastary with its sacred stupa in Plana Novella. Returning back to the sea for an optional swim , we can then visit a fisherman village and a bodega designed by Antoni GaudĆ.

DAY 4 // Through the Montserrat pinnacles (full day):
Today we will visit different areas of the Monserrat mountain region benedictine Monastery. We will climb the impressive heights of Sant Geroni the wall of Diables and the Cavall Bernat.
In the afternoon, we will explore the forests and rock formations of Montserrat, where we might come across wild goats and boar. If you would like to experience a night under the stars, we can stay overnight in a hermitage before returning to the masia after breakfast.

DAY 5 // Torrelles Foix ā El Pla Manlleu ā La Portella:
Today we will explore some rivers and waterfalls near the Masia and have a swim in one of their small natural pools. Walking through the varied landscapes of el PenedĆ©s, weāll visit old houses and farms worn by the centuries, see the castles, stone huts, rivers, waterfalls, vineyards, olive and almond trees.
In the evening there is free time to enjoy the pool and relax, or visit a bodega for a wine and cheese tasting.

DAY 6 // Beyond el Penedes and through the mountains of Siurana
Today we will explore the heart of the Prades Mountains and landscapes, starting in the beautiful village of Siurana, continuing our journey then to discover the incredible gorges, waters, cliffs, rocks and forests.

DAY 7 // To conclude our trip,
We will take a short morning hike to some nearby lakes followed by our last lunch together.

DAY 8: Day on the sea in kayaks
We can explore the coast by kayak, disembarking to discover some of the hidden beaches and castles onshore. Here we can swim and relax in the turquoise waters under sandy yellow cliffs. The clay of which the cliffs are made is high in minerals and can be used on the body as a clearnising and nourishing mud pack!

DAY 9: Enjoy cycling in a VĆa Verde (literally, āgreen-waysā)
Green ways are old disused railway lines that have been recovered and reconditioned for use by walkers and cyclists. Exploring them is a different, enjoyable and environmentally friendly way of getting to know Spain, its culture and its landscapes, which brings together the love of sport and the great outdoors.
You will be cycling through old railway tunnels, forests, vineyards and rivers with hot water springs in the South of Catalonia, visiting little villages where a teenage Pablo Picasso invented the cubism (small Museum showing Picassoās first works).

Green ways are old disused railway lines that have been recovered and reconditioned for use by walkers and cyclists. Exploring them is a different, enjoyable and environmentally friendly way of getting to know Spain, its culture and its landscapes, which brings together the love of sport and the great outdoors.
